Snow Day at the Pool

We started our day at 5:30 today...believe me, you can't stay up late and expect to sleep in, it just doesn't work!  By 7:00 we were all a little stir crazy!  We bundled up in our best snow gear and drove into town to the park.  A snowy slide is just as awesome as a sledding hill :)  The kids had the best time making snow balls, playing on the park equipment, sliding, and enjoying the snow.  We were hoping to stay in town until lunch, but it just was too cold!!  So, we drove back to the house and played indoors for the rest of the morning.  After a picnic lunch we decided to try out the indoor pool that's a part of the neighborhood.  Oh my goodness these kids had so much fun!  How crazy to be swimming in the pool and watching the snow fall at the same time!  True to character, Ruby was crazy in the pool and had fun pretending to be a scuba diver, Ford took his time, but warmed up to jumping in and swimming on his own (with a puddle jumper on) and Rachel stayed in the area where she could stand and swam like a dolphin (if dolphins swim with their feet touching the ground??)  It didn't take long for everyone to crash for a nap and now we just enjoy the calm and await the noise and chaos of 20 more people in this house!!!
What a great Saturday :)
